CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW
Message to Kaiser:
- Share your crisis care protocol!
- Your crisis care protocol should follow the California state guidelines and not discriminate based on disability, age, race, size, and other factors.
Contact Kaiser
(sample email/letter text: bit.ly/CRHospitalLetter) to make sure they have good protocols that do NOT discriminate against disabled people, seniors, fat people, and people of color.
- “This is what happened to Michael Hickson (tinyurl.com/y3vs2r4h). Can this happen at your hospital?”
- Ask how they will make sure that health providers don’t make treatment decisions based on perceived quality of life or perceived years of life remaining, and indirectly based on race and ethnicity.
- Ask them to confirm (by signing the statement below) that they are following state guidelines!
- Send an email, make a phone call, tweet at, post on facebook, etc.
- Use hashtags: #DontRationOurCare #NoBodyIsDisposable
- Link to the pledge to include in tweets, emails, posts: bit.ly/HOSPITALPLEDGE
- Please note: this pledge is designed to be signed by hospitals/hospital administrators, rather than us as advocates
Statement
(Sign here: https://bit.ly/HOSPITALPLEDGE)

This includes links under More Resources – Yhttps://nobodyisdisposable.org/know-your-rights/#resources to sibling Know Your Rights guides from DREDF, Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund, and Vision, Change, Win. COVID infections are on the rise and hospital protocols turn away visitors. We’re hearing from people that these guides are essential when we need to advocate for ourselves. And they help us advocate when our loved ones have the right to support under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
